It is storming today, so I have my windows open and I’m just chilling on the couch listening to them. Occassionally staring outside at the bushes that are flwoering with pretty purple flowers that I don’t remember having before and hoping that the trash I forgot to put on the curb yesterday isn’t impossible to move come Friday.

I’m also watching, “watching”, Toddlers and Tiaras. This show kind of makes me sick. I wonder if the people that produce this show are as sickened by these people as I am. Like, really it’s an expose into the seedy underbelly of this and they aren’t trying to glamorize these sad sacks of parents that are trying to live vicariously through their 3-8 year olds. (is “olds” not a word? It keeps popping up on the spellchecker). I don’t think adults should wear this much makeup and all the fake hair, and fake tans, and fake teeth. It grosses me out. I’m kind of against fake anyway. Being pale, except for my left arm in the summer which I can’t exactly help living in Texas, I think fake tans are gross and seriously unnatural looking. When they are on a 2nd grader even more so.  Which for some reason totally reminds me of the guy I had a crush on in High School. Sean M. When I looked back in my Senior Yearbook and saw his orange tang glow I wondered what the hell I was thinking.

Anyways….Maybe I can type still. I’m unsure because I keep drooling.

Squishy wrote the following poem about Valentines day for a class project. It made me smile and laugh and then smile while laughing so I figured, I must share.

I’m not going to pretend I understand that. Apparently if you want to enter this sweepstakes AND you live in Canada you must take a test to claim your prize.  Someone pointed this out to me and I want to see this test. I want to know why! It’s probably not even worth answering but for some reason it is plaguing me this morning.

I’ve been up since 7:30 shooting the shit online and feeling shakey and like I should be doing something but I can’t seem to move from the couch and the computer.

I don’t know if I’ve jumped into new levels of lame with my new Supernatural fan blog and Twitter that Katherine and I have started, but I’m actually not even trying to care because I love this show. I want to marry this show and have little baby shows about demons and ghosts and monsters all over the place.

I have decided I really don’t like my blog layout. I don’t know what to do about it because I don’t want to make one and I can’t afford to pay for one. So probably this will be changing constantly while I go through the available pre-made ones until I’m sorta happy with it. I think the reason I can’t even update anymore is I’m so meh about the way it looks that I have no desire to stare at it or inflict it’s ugly on everyone else.

Anyways. I think I should use this pent up energy I’m shaking with on something productive like, cleaning my dining room and finishing a trophy I am making. Before I leave, since I seem to have neglected to show off my latest craft project:

The Baby Bits Bookends

Google  apologized for it though…I think? Sort of? A little bit? They put in driving instructions just in case you can’t avoid colliding with a deer. I really hate when I swerve for the deer, and it avoids colliding with me. What are we supposed to do in THOSE situations Google?

But take heart, because Google is also trying to coverup the OBVIOUS discovery of Atlantis. Awesome! I believe. Why can’t you?  Now go fetch me images of Daniel Craig! Good job.

These are in no particular order. Absolutely no way I could rank them in any reasonable amount of time and not have to amend it several times until it was perfect.

– The Cure- “Kiss me, Kiss me, Kiss me”-‘Just Like Heaven’ is my favorite song ever. It might be totally cliché but I worry not about trivial things like this. Despair! WAH! Love.

– Metallica- “Metallica (aka The Black Album)”- Before I thought Lars was a dillweed and the first album I remember coveting and then stealing from a friends older sibling. Started my love for the band.

– Tears for Fears- “The Seeds of Love”- I stole this tape from my brother. Luckily he doesn’t have a facebook or I would probably be getting a nasty e-mail. I remember listening to ‘Sowing the Seeds of Love’ over and over. I had one of those ghetto walkmans that you had to turn the tape over and fast forward because it didn’t have a rewind button. What made that a great idea, I’ll never understand. So I was forever flipping that tape. I got so mad one time because we were going on a plane trip and I had it queued up perfectly then the stupid security guy pushed play and let it run for a while so he could make sure my jank walkman with the fingernail polish flower painted on the back wasn’t actually a cleverly disguised weapon. Asshole.

– AFI- “The Art of Drowning”- The first A.F.I. album I heard, way back before every emo kid in the universe started being little mini-Davey’s. Morningstar is one of those songs that make me happy and sad all at the same time. I also really love Davey Havoks voice.

– New Kids on the Block- “Step by Step”- Say what you will about them, but when I was 8 years old I was in love with some Jordan Knight. He was sexy before I knew what sexy was and while this wasn’t my favorite of their albums, it does have my favorite song ‘Tonight’ on it. I still think we would have had cute babies.

– U2- “War”- Yeah, yeah, so U2 get’s a lot of shit these days, and maybe it has become a little contrived, but I still remember the first time I heard ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’ and I still remember the awe I felt that this wasn’t bullshit music.

– Bob Marley- “Legend”- This was the first album my mom ever bought me. I don’t know what got into her head, and I remember thinking she had lost her mind when she gave it to me, but I’m so glad she did.

– The Smiths- “The Smiths”- It’s Morrissey! Hello. I don’t know if it’s true that people either love The Smiths or they hate The Smiths, because I’m one of those people that love The Smiths and it seems preposterous to me that anyone wouldn’t like them.

– Saves the Day – “Stay What You Are”- I feel kind of old when I think about the ages of the band members, but vs my second favorite album of theirs ‘Through Being Cool’ the quality of the music and the gritty lyrics had me at first listen.

– Five- “5ive”- It’s throw away pop music but it was also the first CD Kimberly found in my car when I drove her home after work one night and it started a beautiful friendship. ‘When the Lights go Out’ is still our song.

– Weezer- “Weezer [Blue Album]”- Every single song on this album is a masterpiece in my opinion. I think some will argue with me that “Pinkerton” was the better album, but this CD changed my life. Four purchases later and finally I got the hint that if I was going to play it so much with my ability to eff up a CD with in 45 minutes of purchase I should probably make sure to rip it to the computer first. I still own my very first bunk unplayable copy though since it’s one of the few bands I will always buy an actual copy of the album just because I feel like I need to own all of them.

– Nine Inch Nails- “Pretty Hate Machine”- When I went to boarding school in eighth grade I traded my Janet Jackson bootleg for this CD. I am 100% positive I got the better deal. Sucks for that girl that decided Janet was a better trade because I think I gained a much healthier respect for music than she ever could. This CD taught me all about the horribleness of breakups. Not that I really understood that in eighth grade mind you since the only breakup I’d had by then was from that boy in 6th grade that seriously broke my heart when after we kissed during a heated game of spin the bottle he was seen kissing that French slut Nichol between classes later in the week. I’m glad I never gave her back the pair of earrings she lent me.

– Tori Amos- “Little Earthquakes”- This is still the album I put on when I am having boy troubles and while I had little respect for it when I first discovered her after buying a $2 single at Blockbuster Music, I grew into the music. Hell I’m still adapting and growing with it every time I listen.

– Paul Simon- “Graceland”- Hey! You know you like it too. My dad loves Paul Simon and since I never had any kind of control over the radio when he drove I learned to love it too. I especially love listening to it with him now because we both play air instruments while my mom holds the air mic and dances. We scare other people on the highway, but you know they go home with awesome stories.

– The Beatles- “Revolver”- ‘Yellow Submarine’ was the first Beatles song I ever remember hearing. I remember my dad saying that he didn’t understand The Beatles and I think that made me fall in love with them more. Something just for me, you know? But regardless of my little Damn the Man fit of rebellion I truly do love The Beatles.

I’m watching The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.  Bruce Campbell is the coolest dude. The world really needs more of him.

I kind of wish I was asleep. I was so tired around 7 tonight and now….now I’m wide awake. It might be Ambien time. Or rice krispies time!

I saw Twilight. I’m undecided if it’s great, or if it’s awful. It’s like, secretly I’m totally in love with the movie and I want to tongue kiss it but at the same time I don’t want a whole lot of people to know about it. Which is why I’m posting this on the internet. No one ever said my brain made sense.

I think a Long Island Iced Tea wouldn’t be turned down.

Now according to wordpress it is 8:09:7 am, which is quite possible in a totally other place but it is actually only 2:09 here in my particular part of the world. Maybe my house is stuck in a time vortex brought on by the disintegration of a sun, but most likely I fucked up setting the time on my wordpress account.  It is in fact that time in the UK. Or as my world clock shows Cardiff.  The reference is probably lost on most.

Marley just hurt herself knocking over my dvd burner acting like a crazy crack head. She doesn’t even like catnip so she has no one to blame but herself and possibly the vodka that seems to be missing….

Which has nothing to do with anything, but then again…when do I ever say anything that has meaning?

Cross-stitch fever has not yet subsided. In fact, if I wasn’t using someone elses computer to post this right now there would be more pictures of finished projects. You are saved from that fate right now.

Tomorrow…erm…today’s agenda once I go to sleep for a couple of hours includes thrift store for old teacups and finishing my I <3 Zombies cross-stitch. Though as J pointed out I really should have done a picture of a brain instead.

My Nana’s recipe for Blackberry Jam cake w/ Caramel frosting as she used to make every year up until the crazy really set in and of course not since she passed.

Ingredients for Cake

1-3/4 cups flour

1-1/2 cups sugar

1 cup oil

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup blackberry jam

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup chopped nuts

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon allspice

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon cloves

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 eggs

Ingredients for Caramel Frosting

1 stick butter

1-1/2 cups brown sugar

1/3 cup cream

1-1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar

Cake: Mix all ingredients together and beat. Grease and flour two 9-inch pans. Fill pans with cake batter and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Ice with caramel frosting.

Frosting: Combine first 3 ingredients. Bring to boil for 2 minutes. Sift sugar and beat into mixture.

I think this is freaking adorable: Pillowcases I also really like the spooning leads to forking pajama pants.

I have decided I have a tab addiction on Firefox. I open so many of them and then leave them open because I may need to go back to that tab later or I want to remember that website for…you guessed it…later and then half the time my computer restarts and I lose those tabs before I’ve bothered to bookmark them. Does it kill me a little on the inside? Nope not at all, but for some reason I can’t close them unless Firefox does it for me. Like a mini-browser-intervention.

I don’t think my spell chekc is workginging. DAMMIT. How will I go on???

And now for something else totally random…why is that I have to have 7 pillows surrounding me when I’m lying in bed watching tv but when I sleep only one is acceptable and I get into fights with the other pillows if they try and get all up in my business?

It’s 3 in the afternoon and I have accomplished nothing today.  Except…maybe now this and the part where I made coffee.
